This E-Learning module is drawn from an asynchronous online course providing lessons on creating a custom map with Google’s My Maps. These maps are for sales staff and provide a rapid means of mapping prospects and determining which tax benefits and state incentives prospective clients may qualify for. This course employs detailed video lessons
Upon completion of this concept course, sales staff will be able to quickly determine which funding programs prospective and existing clients are qualified for. The sales staff could also benefit from the accessibility of the data via mobile apps and the flexibility of the My Maps platform, allowing staff to add additional layers (up to 10) and rapidly determine which of their prospects are nearby, providing more opportunities for cold calls in between other appointments.
Audience: Sales Staff in a firm that offers facilities infrastructure upgrades for commercial, municipal and institutional clients.
Responsibilities: Needs Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE).
Tools Used included: Storyboarding with PowerPoint, Screen Capture with OBS Studio, Video production and editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, Voiceovers and audio mastering with Audacity, and E-Learning Development, animations, interactions and assessments with Articulate Storyline 3.
This concept course is a traditional software application training that grew from a professional development workshop that I have presented at a number of music education conferences and music festivals on the use and applications of one of the oldest commercially available music notation applications, Finale. This brief Video Lesson and the following Gamified Assessment are just one module from a full fledged course illustrating the ease of entry provided by the “Speedy Entry” Tool, which relies primarily on keyboard shortcuts and keypad strokes to enter note durations on the staff rather than the bulky, time-consuming “drag and drop” entry method of the “Simple Entry” Tools.
Audience: Professional composers, songwriters, music publishing staff, recording engineers and producers, music students and music educators.
Responsibilities: With over 20 years experience with Finale, I served as the SME and Instructional Designer: Identifying objectives, planning the lessons, producing digital media and developing the lessons and skill assessments.
Tools Used included: Storyboarding with PowerPoint, Screen Capture and Video Recording with OBS Studio, Graphic Design with PhotoShop, Video production with Adobe Premiere Pro, Voiceovers and audio mastering with Audacity, and E-Learning Development, animations, interactions and assessments with Articulate Storyline 3.
This Job Aid was developed for a contractor who was awarded a contract to complete systems/infrastructure upgrades in over a dozen school buildings for a public school district in Pennsylvania. In order for the contractor’s tradesmen to work on site or even set foot in school buildings, state law required that each employee undergo several Federal and State background checks in order to assure the safety of the students.
Audience: Professional Electricians and Tradesmen, including Journeymen & Apprentices employed by a Contractor.
Responsibilities: To provide concise instructions for obtaining criminal background checks from four separate agencies that are required by a school district in PA for all outside contractors setting foot in schools. Each of the background checks was issued by a separate authority or organization and required separate applications.
Tools Used Included: GIMP for Graphic Design, PowerPoint for Designing Lessons.
